Dua Lipa launches wedding with exclusive cocktail at historic Italian palace; Charli XCX among guests

Palermo, Sicily, has transformed into a fairytale setting as pop superstar Dua Lipa commenced her wedding festivities. The singer and actor Callum Turner are celebrating their recent marriage over three days with approximately 300 guests, comprising family, friends, and entertainment figures.

The celebration kicked off on Friday, June 5, at the Palazzo Gangi with an exclusive welcome cocktail. Attendees included notable celebrities such as Elton John, Charli XCX, producer and DJ Mark Ronson, and singer Olivia Dean. Early images show the newlyweds smiling as they toured the historic baroque palace, appearing particularly affectionate throughout the evening.

For the occasion, Lipa chose a custom-made ivory woven leather dress by Italian brand Bottega Veneta. The halter-neck gown featured a fringed skirt and feather details, creating a sense of movement. She accessorized with a $6,100 Bottega Veneta Andiamo bag adorned with matching ostrich feathers and Bulgari jewelry, including her yellow gold engagement ring designed by Turner.

Elton John is reportedly set to perform a special show for the couple and their guests. The wedding festivities are expected to continue on Saturday, June 6, at Villa Valguarnera in Bagheria, followed by a farewell gathering on Sunday. While various events are taking place across Sicily, the iconic Villa Igiea hotel in Palermo serves as the official wedding hub, with the couple also staying at a beachfront property in the city, which holds special significance for them.
