Dubai Court Acquits Woman in Dhs207,000 Luxury Vehicle Fraud Case

A Dubai court acquitted a 57-year-old Gulf woman accused of fraud and misappropriation in a case involving the planned import of a luxury vehicle from the United States.

The Court of Misdemeanor found insufficient evidence to establish criminal intent. It also found no evidence that the woman had directly interacted with the victim or taken part in the methods used to obtain his money.

The case began after the victim saw Instagram advertisements offering luxury vehicles imported from the United States to the UAE at prices below market rates.
