Dubai Police reunite missing 6-year-old girl with family within 30 minutes

Dubai Police reunited a six-year-old girl with her family within 30 minutes after she became separated from her father near a grocery shop in Frij Al Murar.

The father realised the girl was missing after finishing his shopping. He first thought she might have returned to the family’s residential building, but then discovered she was not with her mother either. After searching nearby without success, he contacted Dubai Police.

Naif Police Station formed a search team after receiving the report through the General Department of Operations’ Command and Control Centre. Officers circulated the girl’s photograph among patrols and investigation teams. A patrol found her on a nearby street. She was frightened and crying, but officers took her safely to the station, where the Victim Communication Section cared for and reassured her until her father arrived.

Dubai Police urged parents and guardians to keep young children under close supervision, especially in crowded public places. It also advised parents to teach children to approach police officers or security personnel and ask for help if they become separated. Police said preparation and close supervision can help prevent a brief separation from becoming a more serious risk.
