Duksung Women's University Holds Meeting to Strengthen Industry-Academia Cooperation

Duksung Women's University hosted an industry-academia cooperation meeting on Monday with representatives from companies participating in its field training and internship programs. The event aimed to gather feedback and discuss future collaborations.

University officials presented the "2035 Mid- to Long-Term Development Plan (Draft)," which outlines four strategic goals including educational innovation, student growth support, industry-academia-research cooperation, and sustainable university operations. A key focus within this plan is "strengthening the industry-academia-research cooperation ecosystem," with specific initiatives like building an industry-academia-research platform, fostering AI-specialized research, and enhancing employment support linked to practical experience.

This meeting provided an opportunity to reflect the industry's field demands in the university's education and development plans, and to establish a cooperative foundation for mutual growth between the university and businesses.

This emphasis on practical experience aligns with feedback from the university community, where expanding field training, internships, and industry projects emerged as the top priority. The university's Job Center plans to leverage these industry partnerships to continuously enhance work-experience programs, thereby strengthening students' professional skills and career exploration opportunities. This initiative seeks to create a collaborative model where businesses can identify talent early, and students gain valuable pre-employment experience.
