Dutch national arrested in North Macedonia for driving nearly 100 km/h over limit

Authorities in North Macedonia have arrested a Dutch national for significantly exceeding the speed limit on the "Friendship" highway. The incident occurred at the Tabanovce border crossing, where the driver was apprehended after being caught driving at dangerous speeds.

Namely, during the check in the "Safe City" system of a car "Audi", with Dutch registrations, on the exit from North Macedonia, it was determined that A. A. (32) from the Netherlands was driving at almost 100 kilometers per hour faster than allowed on the "Friendship" highway near Demir Kapija.

The 32-year-old driver, identified by the initials A.A., was traveling in an Audi with Dutch license plates. During a system check, it was discovered that he was driving at 177 kilometers per hour in a zone where the maximum allowed speed is 80 kilometers per hour. This means he was driving nearly 100 km/h over the legal limit.

Police have charged the Dutch citizen with the criminal offense of "reckless driving of a motor vehicle." He has been detained, and legal proceedings will be initiated against him. The "Friendship" highway is a major route connecting North Macedonia, and such violations pose a significant risk to road safety.
