Dwayne Johnson and original cast return for 'Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle,' first trailer released

The "Jumanji" franchise is gearing up for its latest adventure with the upcoming release of "Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle." The first trailer for the film has been unveiled, showcasing the return of the beloved main cast: Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson, Kevin Hart, Jack Black, and Karen Gillan.

This new installment, following "Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle" (2017) and "Jumanji: The Next Level" (2019), serves as a continuation of the 1995 reboot that starred the late Robin Williams. The modern series reimagines the original board game as a video game, where teenagers transform into the avatars played by the main cast upon entering the game world.

Director Jake Kasdan returns to helm the new film, which promises to retain the series' signature blend of action, comedy, and body-swapping elements. The ensemble cast is further bolstered by the return of Danny DeVito, Nick Jonas, Awkwafina, and Marin Sink. Notably, Bebe Neuwirth, who appeared in the 1995 film, also makes an appearance.

"Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle" is slated for release in Taiwan on December 23rd, placing it in direct competition with major holiday releases like "Dune: Part Three" and "Avengers: Endgame." This holiday movie season has been dubbed "Dunesday" by fans due to the stacked lineup of anticipated blockbusters.
