Panamanian singer Sandra Sandoval recounted the harrowing moments she experienced during a powerful earthquake that struck Colombia, finding herself in a Medellín hotel when the tremor hit.

Sandoval had been in Chocó for a performance before traveling to Medellín on Sunday, with plans to return to Panama on Monday. She was on the 14th floor of her hotel when the earthquake began. In a state of confusion, she started gathering belongings, unsure whether to fully dress before evacuating.

"The experience was very, very, very... I can't explain it to you," Sandoval expressed, who was with her brother Sammy in the hotel lobby. She described the descent down the stairs as chaotic, with other guests also rushing to exit the building. "We managed to get down as if we were drunk. There were people running behind us, and since I can't run that fast, I just kept saying, 'Let me pass, let me pass,'" she narrated.

Upon exiting the building, she found her daughter and other team members crying. The group remained away from the structure for about an hour until they were cleared to return.
