East Sepik Province Leads National Youth Engagement Strategy Rollout

East Sepik Province has made history by becoming the first province in Papua New Guinea to fully implement the National Youth Engagement Strategy (NYES) for the period of 2025–2029. This significant initiative marks a comprehensive approach to youth development and participation across the entire province.

The rollout strategy involved a phased approach, commencing with pilot programs. These initial phases were conducted in one Local Level Government (LLG) within each district, allowing for testing and refinement of the strategy before its broader application. Following the successful completion of these pilot projects, the NYES will now be expanded to encompass all 28 LLGs within East Sepik Province.

This provincial-level implementation is a crucial step in the national effort to engage young people. The NYES 2025–2029 is designed to foster youth involvement, provide opportunities, and address the needs of the nation's younger generation over the next five years. East Sepik's pioneering effort sets a precedent for other provinces to follow in prioritizing youth engagement.
