Eastern Mountain emerges as a key summer tourism destination in Al Hamra

Al Hamra's Eastern Mountain is emerging as a prime summer tourism destination, drawing visitors with its pleasant climate, picturesque landscapes, and an expanding array of events and development projects. This surge is solidifying its status as a key attraction within the Al Dakhiliyah Governorate.

Engineer Sulaiman bin Hamad Al Sunaidi, Director General of Al Dakhiliyah Municipality, highlighted the governorate's commitment to upgrading its tourism sector. "The governorate is implementing a range of quality tourism projects and initiatives to upgrade natural attractions, improve facilities and services, and support the continued growth of the tourism sector as part of broader economic development efforts," he stated. The Eastern Mountain, with its unique natural environment, is central to these efforts, offering visitors a richer, more varied experience.

Summer programming, running until August 30, features a mix of cultural, entertainment, and community activities designed for all ages. These events aim to boost local businesses, support productive families and SMEs, and encourage community involvement in tourism. Visitors can enjoy children's games, performances, shaded seating, stalls selling local crafts, SME exhibits, camping, and hiking trails.

A flagship development is the Eastern Mountain Oasis Project, now over 60 percent complete. This project will introduce new service, cultural, and investment facilities, significantly enhancing the area's tourism appeal. Current work focuses on completing these facilities, an outdoor theater, landscaping, and final touches, all while adhering to high engineering and environmental standards. The project also generates local economic value by awarding contracts to regional companies and supporting SMEs, contributing to the area's economic diversification goals.
