Ebonyi gov begs residents for forgiveness, seeks 2027 votes for APC

Ebonyi State Governor Francis Nwifuru has appealed to residents for forgiveness regarding any shortcomings of his administration and elected lawmakers, while simultaneously urging them to renew their support for the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the upcoming 2027 general elections. The governor made this plea on Sunday during a democracy Thanksgiving Service held at the Government House Chapel in Abakaliki.

The service was organized to mark the third anniversary of Nwifuru's administration. Addressing worshippers, government officials, political stakeholders, and religious leaders, Governor Nwifuru acknowledged that his government, along with members of the National Assembly and the Ebonyi State House of Assembly, may have made mistakes while serving the people. Despite these acknowledgments, he implored the people of the state to remain supportive of their elected representatives.

"Please forgive us; forgive me, the National Assembly members and the House of Assembly members. Forgive our shortcomings and vote for us again," Nwifuru stated. Reflecting on his three years in office, the governor expressed gratitude to God for the administration's achievements. He described governance as a learning process that requires humility, dedication, and public understanding, noting that no government can claim to be flawless.

Governor Nwifuru assured residents that his administration remains committed to enhancing service delivery, expanding infrastructure, and ensuring that the benefits of democracy reach more communities across the state. He reaffirmed his dedication to sustaining ongoing development programs and policies designed to improve the welfare and living standards of Ebonyi residents.
