EBS says September mock exam Korean section resembled last year’s, with 51.1% linked to EBS materials

The Korean section of South Korea’s September mock exam for the 2027 College Scholastic Ability Test had a difficulty level similar to last year’s September mock exam, EBS said.

EBS said the test reflected achievement standards from the 2015 revised curriculum and key concepts from textbooks. Overall, it maintained the question-setting trends seen in last year’s CSAT and the June mock exam.

Many questions required students to identify information accurately in passages and then apply inferential reasoning. EBS said the test used a range of answer choices to measure reading comprehension.

The exam linked more than half of its content to EBS CSAT preparation materials. In the reading section, it used key information and concepts from passages covered in those materials. Three literary works also came from the linked textbooks. EBS counted 23 linked questions, representing 51.1% of the full test, and said students who had studied the passages, works and key concepts carefully would have found the materials helpful in solving the questions.
