"Echoes of Nomads": Large-scale music contest to be organized on Issyk-Kul

An international ethno-song competition titled "Echoes of Nomads" is set to take place in Cholpon-Ata, Kyrgyzstan, from September 1 to 4, 2026. This event is a significant component of the cultural program for the VI World Nomad Games.

The "Echoes of Nomads" competition is envisioned as a large-scale musical project designed to unite the traditional heritage of global peoples with contemporary musical trends. It will serve as a central event within the "Global Future" location of the "Universe of Nomads: Connection of Times" International Ethnocultural Festival.

The project aims to bring together performers from various countries who will showcase their musical legacy through modern stage interpretations, performed live. The contest features two main categories: "Ethno-Hit," where artists perform original compositions in their national languages with modern arrangements while preserving cultural identity, and "World Hit," where participants present well-known international songs in their own unique interpretations, demonstrating music's universal appeal.

An international jury comprising producers and experts will evaluate the contestants. Awards will include a Grand Prix, first, second, and third-place honors, along with diplomas, special prizes, and monetary rewards. Organizers plan to pay special attention to engaging the youth audience and promoting cultural heritage in the digital space through modern media formats.
