Ecuador begins planning for 2030 World Cup after 2026 elimination

With Argentina, Uruguay, and Paraguay hosting opening matches for the 2030 tournament, CONMEBOL has yet to confirm whether the traditional round-robin system will be maintained or if modifications will be made to the qualification process.

Another significant challenge for the Ecuadorian Football Federation is finding a successor to current coach Sebastián Beccacece. Although his departure hasn't been officially announced by the FEF, the Argentine coach confirmed after the loss to Mexico that his contract concluded with Ecuador's elimination. The federation has approximately three months to appoint a new national team manager or an interim coach while searching for a definitive strategist.
