Ecuador's national football team coach Sebastián Beccacece acknowledged the palpable frustration of the fans following a goalless draw against Curaçao in the 2026 World Cup qualifiers. The Argentine coach, despite the disappointing result, maintained an optimistic outlook, highlighting the team's determination to fight for qualification.

"Until we have life, we will fight; nobody said this would be easy. Now we have the chance to beat a team we have never been able to beat before... We will go looking for the match against Germany, we have shown arguments to keep believing," Beccacece stated during a press conference after the match.

He admitted to feeling hurt by the team's current situation, which he described as undeserved, and pledged to continue working to bring out the best in each player. "I am the main responsible one. Football has things that one cannot explain... We had total dominance of the match, I never saw a team unbalanced, but we could not convert," the coach lamented. He could not pinpoint a specific reason for the offensive inefficiencies, noting that attacking drills remain a focus, but expressed tranquility regarding the team's overall performance.

Beccacece also addressed his relationship with the Ecuadorian fans, acknowledging that he has not yet "entered the heart of the Ecuadorian people." He expressed hope that the final match would improve this sentiment, urging supporters to continue believing in the players.
