Ecuador's Consulate General in Ipiales has established emergency consular assistance channels for its citizens residing in southwestern Colombia. This measure follows a powerful magnitude 7.4 earthquake that struck the region on August 10, 2026.

The consular aid is specifically designated for Ecuadorian nationals located in the departments of Amazonas, Cauca, Caquetá, Huila, Putumayo, Nariño, Vaupés, and Valle del Cauca. These areas are within the consulate's jurisdiction and were affected by the seismic event.
