Ecuador: Registration Deadline Looms for Public Universities

Ecuadorian students aspiring to enter public universities, institutes, and conservatories must complete their national higher education registration by Saturday, June 13. This online process is a mandatory step for all applicants seeking admission to public higher education institutions across the country.

The registration is managed through the platform admision.educacion.gob.ec. During the designated period, applicants are required to fill out a registration form, meticulously review their submitted information, and download a confirmation receipt. This ensures their participation in the selection process for the upcoming academic year.

The national registration is open to several groups. This includes students currently in their final year of high school in the Sierra-Amazonía region for the 2025-2026 academic period. Additionally, high school graduates from previous years who wish to pursue further education in public institutions are eligible. The process also accommodates foreign nationals with legal residency in Ecuador, provided they meet the necessary immigration requirements and homologation procedures.

This national registration system is crucial for accessing programs offered by 33 public universities and polytechnic schools, as well as 54 affiliated public technological institutes and higher conservatories. The initiative aims to broaden access to higher education and facilitate the entry of more students into professional and technical programs nationwide. Last year, over 373,000 individuals completed the registration process.
