Ecuador's Noboa to attend Fujimori's inauguration in Peru

Ecuador's President Daniel Noboa is set to attend the inauguration of Peru's President-elect Keiko Fujimori on July 28, 2026. The confirmation came from Peruvian Foreign Minister Carlos Pareja on Monday, July 20. The ceremony in Peru will be a significant international gathering, with King Felipe VI of Spain and the presidents of Argentina, Bolivia, Chile, Ecuador, Honduras, Panama, Paraguay, and Uruguay confirmed to attend. Foreign Minister Pareja briefed Fujimori on the protocol events scheduled from July 27 to 29, marking her official assumption of the presidency for the 2026-2031 term. Other dignitaries expected include the prime minister of Aruba and delegates from Japan, China, and Morocco. "We will have a large and important delegation of foreign dignitaries accompanying the president on the 28th in Congress," Pareja stated. Fujimori, who was proclaimed the winner on July 3 with a narrow margin, has expressed high expectations for her term. She also voiced concerns regarding common crime and the impending El Niño weather phenomenon. "We are worried about the arrival of El Niño and we must directly confront crime to restore order," she commented on the pressing issues facing Peruvian citizens.
