Ecuadorian banks to operate through ATMs and digital channels during August holiday

Ecuadorian private banks will ensure financial services remain accessible throughout the long weekend celebrating the First Cry of Independence. The holiday period extends from Saturday, August 8, to Monday, August 10, 2026. During these three days of mandatory rest, customers will be able to conduct various operations through a network of ATMs, non-bank correspondents, and digital platforms, according to the Association of Private Banks of Ecuador (Asobanca). ATMs will be operational for withdrawals and deposits. Non-bank correspondents, located in shops, pharmacies, supermarkets, and other small businesses across the country, will also be available for transfers, withdrawals, and payments. Additionally, digital banking services via mobile phones, tablets, and computers will be accessible. Asobanca recommends that users consult the official channels of each financial institution to confirm the availability and operating hours of their services during the holiday. The association also encourages the use of digital platforms for banking transactions throughout the break.
