EDB Launches PPP Scholarship Program at Eurasian National University

The Eurasian Development Bank has launched a scholarship program at L.N. Gumilyov Eurasian National University to develop research and practical expertise in public-private partnerships in Kazakhstan.

The initiative, unveiled on Sept. 4, offers students the chance to compete for $600 scholarships supporting PPP-related research. Recipients will also receive expert mentoring and may present their findings at EDB events across the bank’s member states, including the International EDB PPP Fellows Seminars.

The launch coincided with the opening of an EDB-branded classroom equipped with modern multimedia technology. The university facility will host lectures, seminars, project workshops, expert discussions and scientific conferences focused on PPPs and Eurasian integration.

The EDB PPP scholarship program provides students with early professional orientation and helps them develop project analysis skills, while its international component enables comparative assessment of national PPP models across all EDB member states.

She said the program would help create a pool of specialists able to prepare and implement PPP projects in Kazakhstan and across the Eurasian region.

The EDB said students would gain both academic knowledge and practical experience of how PPP projects are developed and implemented. The multilateral development bank finances investment projects across Eurasia and focuses on areas including transport infrastructure, digital systems, green energy, agriculture, industry and mechanical engineering.
