Edmonton man develops app encouraging people to explore their communities

Kyle Bauder has created Zelse, a mobile application designed to encourage people to explore their communities and visit landmarks. The app allows users to embark on missions, earn points, and level up, with the ability to create their own local missions.

It’s basically getting people to get off the couch, go get involved in their community, go do things.

Currently, Zelse offers more than 20 missions within Edmonton, including visits to the Alberta legislature, The Ship at West Edmonton Mall, and the Talus Dome. Users verify their visits through photo submissions. Bauder hopes the app will inspire people to discover new places in their own cities.

Through the points you can level up, you can redeem the points.

Bauder's vision for Zelse extends beyond Edmonton, with the app now available in 654 cities globally. He is receiving feedback from users in Norway and Russia, aiming to refine the app based on their experiences. Zelse is slated for release on the Apple and Google Play stores in the near future.

You can create your own missions so people can come up with missions in their city, like a little local spot they might have, they might be able to come up with a mission for that.
