Edo Queens thrash USFA 5-1 to reach WAFU-B final

Edo Queens turned their WAFU-B semifinal into a one-sided contest, beating Burkina Faso’s USFA FC 5-1 at the Stade 4 Août in Ouagadougou and booking a place in the final.

The defending Nigerian Women’s Football League champions took control early. Atume Doosuur opened the scoring in the 17th minute, and Edo Queens kept pressing until Chioma Moses doubled the lead in the 43rd minute. Valentina Uroko struck two minutes later, sending the Nigerian side into halftime with a 3-0 advantage.

The pressure continued after the break. Doshima Tarnum made it 4-0 just one minute into the second half by converting from a corner, and Aminat Folorunsho added a fifth in the 62nd minute. USFA scored a consolation goal in the first minute of stoppage time, but it could not alter the result.

Edo Queens had already made a strong start in Group B, beating Niger’s AS Garde Nationale 7-0 and Côte d’Ivoire’s ASEC Mimosas 3-1. Their only group-stage loss came against Ghanaian champions Ampem Darkoa Ladies, who won 2-1 on Sunday. A rematch could now take place in the final, with the WAFU-B crown and a place in the CAF Women’s Champions League on the line.
