Eduardo Rodríguez ranks among National League's best pitchers

Eduardo Rodríguez continues to solidify his reputation as one of the National League's top pitchers, delivering another stellar performance for the Arizona Diamondbacks. In a recent outing against the St. Louis Cardinals, the Venezuelan left-hander pitched 6.2 scoreless innings, allowing only three hits while striking out five batters.

Though he did not secure the win, Rodríguez achieved his ninth quality start in 16 appearances this season. His impressive outing further improved his earned run average to 2.27, placing him fifth among qualified starters in the National League. This ERA is the lowest of his 11-year Major League career.

Rodríguez also ranks highly in several other pitching categories. He is third in the league in innings pitched with 95.0, trailing only Sandy Alcántara and Cristopher Sánchez. His 3.2 wins above replacement (WAR) ranks fifth among National League pitchers, and he holds a .750 winning percentage with a 6-2 record, good for ninth place.

Despite his individual success, the Diamondbacks currently sit third in the NL West, 10.5 games behind the division-leading Dodgers. This team standing has somewhat overshadowed Rodríguez's exceptional performance. However, his consistent excellence has made him a strong candidate for the upcoming All-Star Game on July 14 in Philadelphia.
