Eduardo Rodríguez reaches 10 wins for the year, shuts out Pittsburgh

Eduardo Rodríguez delivered a stellar performance on the mound, securing his 10th victory of the season as the Arizona Diamondbacks shut out the Pittsburgh Pirates 3-0. The Venezuelan left-hander pitched eight scoreless innings, scattering five hits while striking out two batters and issuing one walk. His dominant outing lowered his ERA to an impressive 2.48, one of the lowest in the National League.

This marked Rodríguez's seventh start of eight or more innings in his career and his second this year. It was also his fourth career MLB start of at least eight scoreless innings. He threw 105 pitches, his highest total this season, showcasing his endurance and effectiveness throughout the game.

Offensively, fellow Venezuelan Gabriel Moreno provided the crucial support with his eighth home run of the season. The catcher's two-run blast in the fourth inning broke a scoreless tie and set the tone for the Diamondbacks. Max Kepler later added an RBI single in the sixth to extend Arizona's lead.

Other Venezuelan players on the Diamondbacks also contributed, with Ildemaro Vargas going 1-for-2 and Jorge Barrosa going hitless in three at-bats.
