Eduardo Villegas appointed new head coach of Nacional Potosí

Nacional Potosí has appointed Eduardo Villegas as its new head coach, seeking to revitalize the team's performance. The decision comes after the club's management decided to part ways with the previous coach, Colombian Alexis Márquez, citing a decline in the team's output in recent matches.

Villegas, who previously managed The Strongest earlier in the season, is set to arrive in Potosí on Friday. His debut match is scheduled for Monday against Real Oruro, a fixture from the rescheduled ninth round of the 'Todos contra Todos' tournament. This marks the third coaching change for Nacional Potosí this campaign, having started the season under Leonardo Egüez before Márquez took over.

"I am happy to join a club that operates with seriousness. I am ready to face this new challenge because Nacional is an important club with no financial problems. With that outlook, the team's response must be through performance," Villegas stated upon the agreement. He will be accompanied by physical trainer Jaime Jiménez and assistant Jaime Jemio, who is returning to work with Villegas after many years.

The club is still finalizing the goalkeeping coach position, which Villegas expects to have filled by the weekend. The team's recent draw against Real Potosí appears to have been the final catalyst for the change in coaching staff.
