Egyptian chicken prices stabilize after recent drop

Chicken prices in Egypt saw stability on Monday, July 13, 2026, following a recent decrease. White broiler chickens were priced at 67 Egyptian pounds per kilogram at the farm level, marking the third consecutive day of decline. This farm price translates to approximately 77 pounds for consumers.

Prices for other types of chicken also remained steady. Sasso chickens were sold at 73 pounds per kilogram in farms and 83 pounds in markets. Local chickens fetched 105 pounds per kilogram at the farm and 115 pounds in shops.

The poultry market also reported stable prices for eggs. A carton of white eggs cost 75 pounds, while red eggs were priced at 85 pounds, and local eggs at 90 pounds per carton.

Additionally, prices for turkey were noted, with a kilogram of whole turkey costing 190 pounds. Larger turkeys weighing 7 kilograms were priced at 1,330 pounds, and those weighing 10 kilograms at 1,900 pounds. Boneless turkey breast was sold at 400 pounds per kilogram. Prices for white chicken chicks were around 26 pounds per chick from companies.
