Eid-el-Kabir: Kwara NSCDC deploys 2,480 operatives

The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) in Kwara State has mobilized a significant force of 2,480 operatives to ensure security throughout the Eid-el-Kabir celebrations. This deployment spans all 16 local government areas of the state, reflecting a comprehensive strategy to safeguard citizens and national assets.

The deployment of 2,480 operatives across all local government areas of Kwara State is part of our proactive strategy to ensure a peaceful and incident-free Eid-el-Kabir celebration.

State Commandant Abbas Mohammed approved the deployment, emphasizing it as a proactive measure to guarantee a peaceful and incident-free festive period. The operatives are strategically positioned at key locations, including Eid prayer grounds, recreational centers, public spaces, and other sensitive areas across the state. This ensures a visible security presence where large gatherings are expected.

The operation is described as intelligence-driven, with personnel drawn from specialized units such as the Armed Squad, Operation Harmony, Counter-Terrorism Unit, Anti-Vandal Unit, and the Chemical, Biological, Radiological, Nuclear, and Explosives (CBRNE) Unit. Area Commanders and Divisional Officers are tasked with intensifying surveillance, maintaining round-the-clock patrols, and ensuring rapid responses to any emerging security threats.

The commandant encouraged responsible celebration, peace, and the embrace of unity and tolerance, while warning that disruptive elements would face decisive action.
