Eid-el-Kabir: Kwara Police order massive deployment, issue safety warnings

The Kwara State Police Command is implementing extensive security measures ahead of the Eid-el-Kabir celebration to ensure the safety of residents and prevent any security breaches. A significant deployment of personnel and operational assets is planned across the state for the upcoming festivities.

As Muslim faithful observe this significant religious festival marked by Sacrifice, Obedience, and Devotion, the Command urges residents to celebrate peacefully, responsibly, and in accordance with the law.

Commissioner of Police Ojo Adekimi extended greetings to Muslim faithful and urged them to celebrate peacefully and responsibly. The command has strategically positioned personnel at Eid prayer grounds, recreational centers, highways, motor parks, and other vulnerable locations. This proactive approach aims to maintain law and order throughout the celebration period.

Area Commanders, Divisional Police Officers, and tactical units have been directed to increase their visibility and conduct coordinated security operations. This includes aggressive policing, intelligence-driven surveillance, patrols, and stop-and-search operations to curb criminal activities. The police are committed to protecting lives and property.

In line with the Command’s unwavering commitment to the protection of lives and property, the Commissioner of Police has ordered a robust and strategic deployment of personnel and operational assets across the state to ensure a peaceful and incident-free Eid celebration.

The command also issued a warning against obstructing public roads and highways with tents or canopies, citing security and traffic risks. Residents are encouraged to remain vigilant, cooperate with law enforcement, obey traffic regulations, and report any suspicious activities promptly via the command's emergency numbers. The police expressed gratitude for the public's continued support.

The Command further warns against the erection of tents, canopies, or any form of obstruction on public roads and highways, as such acts constitute security and traffic hazards.
