Eid-el-Kabir: Police deploy personnel, release emergency hotlines in Bauchi

The Bauchi State Police Command is implementing heightened security measures and has released emergency contact numbers in preparation for the Eid-el-Kabir celebration, scheduled for Wednesday, May 27, 2026. The command aims to ensure a peaceful and secure environment for all residents during the festivities.

In line with the Command’s mandate to ensure a hitch-free celebration, adequate personnel have been deployed to Eid grounds, major highways, recreational centres, and other public places across the 20 Local Government Areas.

Commissioner of Police Sani-Omolori Aliyu extended greetings to Muslim faithful and acknowledged the public's ongoing cooperation in maintaining peace. To facilitate a smooth celebration, the command has deployed substantial personnel, including conventional police officers, tactical teams, and traffic personnel. These officers will be stationed at Eid grounds, major highways, recreational centers, and other public spaces throughout the state's 20 local government areas, working in collaboration with other security agencies and local vigilante groups.

The police have issued a stern warning against any actions that could disturb public order during and after the celebrations. Criminal elements are advised to avoid the state, as the command has pledged decisive action against troublemaking, reckless driving, and the use of fireworks or other prohibited items. Parents and guardians are urged to supervise their children closely to prevent them from engaging in illegal activities that could lead to arrest.
