Eight New Films Premiere in Turkish Cinemas This Week

This week, Turkish cinemas will host the release of eight new films, offering a diverse cinematic experience for audiences. The selection spans various genres, from comedy and drama to action and animation, ensuring something for every taste.

Among the highlights is the return of the beloved 2017 Turkish comedy "Ölümlü Dünya" (Mortal World), directed by Ali Atay. The film, starring Ahmet Mümtaz Taylan, Alper Kul, and Sarp Apak, tells the story of the Mermer family who have run a restaurant at Haydarpaşa Station for generations.

Drama enthusiasts can look forward to "Doğum Günü Partisi" (Birthday Party), an adaptation of Panos Karnezis' novel, featuring Willem Dafoe. The film centers on a lavish birthday celebration for a wealthy Greek businessman's daughter that spirals out of control, forcing him to confront his empire and life's foundations.

Other notable releases include "Hatırladığım Ağaçlar" (The Trees I Remember), a 2023 film starring Hande Doğandemir, and the live-action remake of Disney's animated hit "Moana," starring Dwayne Johnson.
