Eight People Injured in Suspected Hornet Stings at Busan Elementary School

Eight people were stung by insects believed to be hornets at an elementary school in Busan. One person suffered serious injuries, while six others sustained minor injuries and were taken to hospital.

Fire authorities received a report at 7:22 a.m. on the 9th about people suffering from bee stings at the school in Busan’s Seo District. The injured people were reportedly in their 60s to 80s. One person received emergency treatment at the scene and did not go to hospital.

Firefighters found a nest in a tree about 5 meters above the school’s main entrance and removed it using water-spraying equipment. The school decided to close after internal discussions, while authorities controlled access for students arriving at the school and nearby schools.
