Eight suspects held for robbery, drug dealing in Adamawa

Authorities in Adamawa State have apprehended eight individuals suspected of involvement in armed robbery and drug dealing. The arrests were made during a coordinated operation in the Yola South Local Government Area, specifically targeting the Yolde-Pate area.

On the strength of credible intelligence, operatives carried out a coordinated operation in Yola, leading to the arrest of eight suspects for criminal conspiracy, unlawful possession of dangerous weapons, and the sale and consumption of banned substances.

The operation, based on credible intelligence, aimed to dismantle a criminal network known as the "Shilla" group and prevent violent crimes within the state. Police operatives recovered dangerous weapons and suspected banned substances believed to be linked to the suspects' unlawful activities.

The arrested individuals, aged between 18 and 25, were identified as Bawuro Mohammad, Hamza Hassan, Aliyu Abubakar, Alfa Abubakar, Fahat Hamma, Dahiru Usman, Ibrahim Samaila, and Jefe Jostine. They face charges including criminal conspiracy, unlawful possession of dangerous weapons, and the sale and consumption of banned substances.

All residents of various addresses within Shagari, Yolde-Pate and Wuro Hausa in Yola South LGA were apprehended during a targeted operation aimed at dismantling a Shilla criminal network and preventing violent crimes within the state.

Commissioner of Police Kabiru Hassan has ordered a comprehensive investigation into the matter. He assured the public that all individuals found guilty will be prosecuted according to the law, reinforcing the command's commitment to safeguarding lives and property. Criminal elements have been warned to cease their activities or face decisive police action.
