Eight Tribesmen, Young Girl Killed in Separate Balochistan Violence

Balochistan province was marred by violence on Sunday, with eight tribesmen and a young girl losing their lives in separate incidents. Officials reported armed attacks and inter-clan clashes in Qila Abdullah and Dera Bugti districts.

In Qila Abdullah, a group of armed men attacked opponents in the Killi Badawan area, killing four tribesmen and a young girl. The girl succumbed to her injuries while being transported to Quetta for treatment. Police indicated the attack was rooted in an old feud, with one assailant reportedly stating, "We have taken revenge today." The aggrieved party had previously lost six members to the attackers' clan. Following the incident, protesters briefly blocked the Quetta-Chaman highway with the bodies, demanding arrests, but traffic was restored after negotiations with local authorities.

Separately, in Dera Bugti, a dispute over a marriage proposal escalated into an exchange of gunfire between two rival factions of the Bugti clan. A senior police officer confirmed that armed men from both sides used automatic weapons, resulting in four deaths and one injury. Law enforcement personnel were deployed to the area to prevent further conflict.

The incidents highlight the persistent security challenges and tribal tensions in parts of Balochistan.
