Eileen Coparropa Congratulates Emily Santos on Medal Haul at Games

Panamanian swimming icon Eileen Coparropa has publicly celebrated Emily Santos's impressive performance at the XXV Central American and Caribbean Games in Santo Domingo 2026. Santos secured three silver medals at this year's event, adding to a medal she won in the 2023 edition.

With a total of four medals across two Games appearances, Santos has etched her name in Panamanian swimming history. She now ranks as the third Panamanian swimmer, and second woman, to achieve this milestone in the regional competition. Coparropa herself is part of this elite group.

"Emily, congratulations. I am so happy to see you win a total of four medals in the editions of the Central American and Caribbean Games," Coparropa stated in a social media message. She highlighted the significance of this achievement, noting that only three Panamanian swimmers have reached this level.

Santos earned her silver medals in the 200m breaststroke at both the San Salvador 2023 and Santo Domingo 2026 Games. She also secured silver medals in the 50m and 100m breaststroke events at the 2026 Games. The other Panamanians in this exclusive club are Eileen Coparropa, who won four gold medals in 1998 and 2002, and Edgar Crespo, who has accumulated five medals, including three golds, between 2006 and 2018.
