Eje 3 Oriente and Calzada Taxqueña blocked due to disappearance of a minor in Chalco; demand for intensified search efforts

A protest blocking key Mexico City thoroughfares has brought traffic to a standstill as family and friends demand authorities intensify their search for a missing teenager. The demonstration, involving approximately 20 individuals, has shut down Eje 3 Oriente and Calzada Taxqueña in the Iztapalapa borough.

The protesters are demanding the presence of officials from the Attorney General's Office, urging them to escalate the search for Katherine Saori Quiroz. According to initial reports, the adolescent disappeared on July 30 in Chalco de Covarrubias, located in the State of Mexico. The demonstrators are seeking an immediate response and action from the authorities regarding her whereabouts.

The blockade has led to considerable traffic congestion in the affected areas, prompting recommendations for motorists to seek alternative routes. Negotiations are reportedly underway with the protesters. As of now, there has been no official confirmation of representatives from the Attorney General's Office arriving at the scene, nor is there an estimated time for when the road closures will end.
