Ekiti 2026: Deputy Governor Afuye Votes, Predicts Oyebanji’s Victory

Ekiti State Deputy Governor Monisade Afuye cast her vote in the governorship election at her Ikere Ekiti ward, expressing satisfaction with the process. She observed a strong turnout of voters, commending their patriotism and eagerness to participate in the civic duty.

You can see for yourselves how people trooped out to participate in this election. Not only trooping out, but being ready and anxious to participate in the voting. I am indeed impressed with this conduct of our voters.

Afuye also lauded the Independent National Electoral Commission and security agencies for their impartiality and preparedness, which she stated contributed to the peaceful conduct of the election across the state. She noted that voters were not intimidated, suggesting the election was proceeding smoothly and could be one of the best in Ekiti's history.

I have to commend INEC as well and our security agencies. They really prepared for this election. You can see that nobody is being intimidated and I believe if we continue like this, this election may turn out being the best in Ekiti history.

When asked about the election's outcome, the deputy governor voiced strong confidence in the incumbent Governor Biodun Oyebanji. She highlighted his dedicated service and perceived strong performance, predicting a decisive victory for the All Progressives Congress candidate with a substantial margin.
