Ekiti election: Governor Oyebanji urges patience amid reports of glitches

Ekiti State Governor Biodun Oyebanji has voiced optimism regarding the ongoing #EkitiDecides2026 governorship election, despite reports of technical glitches at some polling units. He appealed to voters for patience, assuring them that all eligible individuals would have the opportunity to cast their votes.

Governor Oyebanji stated that he had received assurances from the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) that the issues encountered with the voting machines would be addressed. "I want to appeal to our people to be patient, because everyone will vote. I have received assurances from INEC that all those who came out will be allowed to vote," he told journalists after casting his ballot.

Despite the initial challenges, Oyebanji reported that the voter turnout was impressive and that the election process was proceeding peacefully. The governor, accompanied by his wife, expressed confidence in securing a victory, which he believes will enable him to continue implementing his development agenda for Ekiti State.
