Ekiti State partners group to expand reproductive healthcare access

The Ekiti State Government is intensifying efforts to broaden access to essential reproductive health services for women and girls across the state. Commissioner for Health and Human Services, Dr. Oyebanji Filani, affirmed the government's dedication to enhancing health indices and achieving Universal Health Coverage through continuous training of healthcare workers.

The collaboration is aimed at strengthening service delivery and ensuring that women have access to information and quality services to make informed decisions about their health.

During the closing ceremony of a five-day training program for healthcare providers in Ado Ekiti, Filani, represented by Permanent Secretary Mrs. Olusola Gbenga-Igotun, highlighted the collaboration with Onelife Initiative. This partnership focuses on strengthening service delivery and ensuring women receive quality information and services to make informed health decisions.

The training program, attended by doctors, nurses, and pharmacists from various healthcare levels, covered the latest methods, tools, and drug supplies for reproductive health services. Sola Fagorusi, Executive Director of Onelife Initiative, praised the state government's political will and pledged ongoing collaboration to expand the program to all 16 local government areas. The initiative aims to deliver comprehensive, rights-based, and non-judgmental services, contributing to the prevention of maternal deaths linked to unsafe abortions.
