#EkitiDecides2026: Final results as declared by INEC (LIVE UPDATES)

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) is poised to formally declare the final results of the Ekiti State governorship election. The collation process is underway at the INEC headquarters in Ado-Ekiti, following voting that commenced Saturday morning across the state's 2,445 polling units. Results were initially announced at the polling unit level, then aggregated through the state's 177 wards and 16 local government areas. Ekiti State has 1,059,360 registered voters, with 1,028,929 eligible to vote after collecting their Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs). Fourteen political parties are participating in the election. Incumbent governor Biodun Oyebanji of the All Progressives Congress (APC) is widely seen as the leading candidate. To be declared the winner, a candidate must secure the highest number of votes and achieve at least 25% of the votes in two-thirds of the local governments, which equates to 11 out of 16 local government areas.
