Elderly farmer collapses from heatstroke in temporary shelter

An elderly individual suffered from severe heatstroke while seeking respite from the heat in a temporary shelter after working in a field in Damyang, South Korea. The 70-year-old, identified as Mr. A, was found unresponsive in the shelter on Tuesday morning.

Emergency services were dispatched to the scene, where they found Mr. A exhibiting symptoms of heat exhaustion, including a body temperature of 39.1 degrees Celsius, and appearing disoriented. Thanks to the prompt emergency care provided by paramedics during transport, Mr. A regained some level of consciousness before arriving at the hospital.

Authorities believe Mr. A had been working in the fields before retreating to the nearby shelter to cool down, where he subsequently collapsed. The incident serves as a stark reminder of the dangers of heat-related illnesses, particularly for individuals engaged in strenuous outdoor activities during hot weather.
