Elderly Man Killed by Garbage Truck in Bursa, Turkey

A tragic accident in Mudanya, Bursa, Turkey, has resulted in the death of a 70-year-old man who was struck and killed by a municipal garbage truck.

The victim, identified as Feyzullah Yeşilyaprak, was reportedly run over by the vehicle around 1 p.m. local time in the Güzelyalı Siteler neighborhood. The garbage truck, belonging to the Mudanya Municipality, was engaged in its routine trash collection duties at the time of the incident.

Eyewitness accounts or preliminary reports suggest that the driver of the garbage truck, identified as C.A., 58, failed to notice Yeşilyaprak, leading to the fatal collision. Emergency services, including police and medical teams, were dispatched to the scene following the incident.

Paramedics confirmed Yeşilyaprak's death at the scene. His body was transported to the Mudanya State Hospital morgue after initial investigations were completed. The driver, C.A., was taken into custody by the authorities, and a formal investigation into the circumstances surrounding the accident has been initiated.
