Elderly man killed in highway hit-and-run; driver flees

An unidentified man, estimated to be around 65 years old, died Friday morning after a hit-and-run incident on the Mexico-Cuernavaca highway (MEX-95D). The collision took place near the Heroico Colegio Militar neighborhood in the Tlalpan borough of Mexico City.

Emergency services were alerted to an unconscious man with significant bleeding on the roadway. Witnesses at the scene reported they did not see the vehicle involved, as the driver fled immediately after the incident. Paramedics from the Escuadrón de Rescate y Urgencias Médicas (ERUM) arrived and confirmed the man had no vital signs, succumbing to injuries sustained in the collision.

Following the confirmation of death, police cordoned off the area and covered the body to preserve the scene. Officials from the relevant Territorial Coordination were notified. Personnel from the Forensic Services department processed the scene and are conducting an investigation to determine the circumstances of the accident and identify the responsible vehicle and driver.
