Elderly Man Seriously Injured After Leg Trapped Under Car Wheel on Slope

A 70-year-old man sustained serious injuries after his leg became trapped under the wheel of his car while he attempted to prevent it from rolling down a slope. The incident occurred on Sunday afternoon in a parking lot in Hwasun-gun, South Jeolla Province.

According to the integrated fire department in Gwangju and Jeonnam, the man, identified as Mr. A, placed his vehicle in neutral on a downhill incline. The car subsequently began to slide, and in an attempt to stop it, Mr. A's left leg became pinned by the rear wheel.

Emergency services were dispatched to the scene, and firefighters successfully rescued Mr. A. He was transported to a nearby hospital for medical treatment. Authorities have stated that his injuries are serious but not life-threatening. Police are investigating the circumstances surrounding the accident, considering the combination of the downhill slope and the vehicle being in neutral as contributing factors.
