A fire erupted on the seventh floor of an apartment building in Vorst, Belgium, on Saturday morning, forcing the evacuation of residents. Police established a safety zone around the property. The apartment where the fire started has been declared uninhabitable. Water damage from firefighting efforts has also rendered three apartments on lower floors temporarily unlivable. Residents of these affected units are being relocated. A smoke detector was present in the apartment where the fire originated. The fire department issued a reminder about safe charging practices for electric device batteries, advising users to employ quality materials, use original chargers, monitor the charging process, and avoid charging overnight or near flammable items.
