Electricity cuts possible across Tunisia from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. Thursday

Electricity cuts may affect communities across Tunisia between 1 p.m. and 5 p.m. on Thursday, September 3, 2026, according to notices issued by the Tunisian Electricity and Gas Company, STEG.

The interruptions may occur intermittently, depending on the condition of the electricity network and the need to balance production with consumption. STEG also warned that service could return without prior notice, advising subscribers in the listed areas to take the necessary precautions.

The possible outages extend across the Grand Nord and Cap Bon, including Kélibia, Nabeul, Hammamet, Menzel Temime and Korba. Areas in the governorates of Zaghouan and Bizerte are also named, including Zaghouan, Mateur, Menzel Bourguiba and Ghar El Melh.

The notice also covers numerous localities in the northwest and central regions, as well as the governorate of Sfax. In southern Tunisia, the listed areas include communities in Gabès, Djerba, Kébili and Tataouine, such as Gabès Ville, Houmt Souk, Douz and Remada. The notice names additional areas in the southeast, including Zarzis and Ben Guerdane.
