“Elegantly Wild”: Model and Actress Jimena Buttigliengo on Life, Love and Her First Book in Ibiza

At 40, Jimena Buttigliengo says she has turned the page and begun a new chapter on the beaches of Ibiza. The model and actress has lived on the Spanish island for three years and calls it her place in the world.

Ibiza, she insists, is not only about parties and summer. She describes a quiet, family-friendly island closely connected to nature. With her children, she spends time outdoors, playing sports, going to the beach, sailing and riding horses. She also highlights the strong sense of community around her.

I know that for many people Ibiza is synonymous only with parties and summer, but the reality is that it is much more than that. It is a very peaceful, family-friendly place connected to nature.

“Ibiza is a true paradise,” Buttigliengo says, describing a balance between music and wellness, sport, beaches and sunsets. She admits that solitude does not bother her, although she prefers being in a relationship and believes life as a couple is more enjoyable.

This August gave her time to reflect and complete her first book, “Raise the Vibes.” She says it is not autobiographical, but a collection of tools, lessons and ideas that helped her navigate her own path. Its roots lie in the experiences she considers most transformative: being selected for the Elite Model Look contest, moving to Paris, becoming a mother and going through a separation.

A decade ago, the model left for Europe. After living in London and Paris, she eventually settled in Ibiza. She says many of her childhood ambitions have already come true, including becoming a model, traveling the world, taking part in productions and working in a film. Yet reaching 40 has brought a deeper sense of being grounded and comfortable with who she is.
