Elversberg celebrates successful Bundesliga debut, Leipzig wins convincingly

The 59th club in Germany's top football league, SV Elversberg, marked its Bundesliga debut with a surprising 3-2 victory over Bayer Leverkusen. Playing in Spiesen-Elversberg, the league's smallest-ever venue with 13,000 residents, the team scored its first two goals within minutes of kickoff. Lukas Petkov opened the scoring in the eighth minute, followed by Cole Campbell just a minute later, setting a new record for the fastest two opening goals by a debuting club.

David Mokwa extended Elversberg's lead to 3-0 in the 46th minute. The early goals were attributed to errors by Leverkusen's new captain, Edmond Tapsoba, much to the frustration of Leverkusen's new coach, Carles Martínez. Despite late goals from Patrik Schick (77th minute) and Christian Kofane (90+1 minute), Leverkusen could not overcome the deficit.

In Leipzig, Martin Demichelis celebrated a successful coaching debut in the Bundesliga with RB Leipzig's 3-0 victory over Borussia Mönchengladbach. Ridle Baku (26th minute), Antonio Nusa (49th minute), and new signing Rocco Reitz (66th minute) scored for Leipzig.

Elsewhere, Adi Hütter's return to Eintracht Frankfurt ended in a disappointing 3-3 draw against Union Berlin. Frankfurt had initially taken the lead through Latte Lath, but Younes Ebnoutalib scored twice to put Frankfurt ahead before Union Berlin fought back with late goals from Leopold Querfeld (79th minute) and Tim Skarke (90+2 minute) to secure a draw.

1. FC Köln achieved a dramatic 3-2 home victory against TSG 1899 Hoffenheim, coming from behind twice. A goalless draw was played out between FSV Mainz 05 and SC Paderborn.
