Embraer Forecasts Demand for 8,500 New Jets in 20 Years

Brazil-based aircraft manufacturer Embraer projects a significant global demand for 8,500 new commercial jet aircraft with fewer than 150 seats over the next two decades. The total value of this projected demand is estimated at $650 billion.

The company's annual 20-year forecast, detailed in its Market Outlook for 2026, anticipates that China will spearhead annual Revenue Passenger Kilometres (RPK) growth. Concurrently, North America is expected to lead in the number of jet aircraft deliveries within this segment.

Released in advance of the Farnborough Air Show, the Market Outlook 2026 report provides an analysis of global influences and trends across seven world regions that are expected to shape the demand for new aircraft. The report also includes an analysis of the standard body cargo segment, indicating a broader scope of aviation market considerations. Arjan Meijer, Embraer President and CEO of Commercial Aviation, noted in the report's introduction that a global realignment in how people, capital, and goods move will influence future airline passenger flows. He specifically pointed to the expansion of advanced manufacturing clusters and regional value chains as drivers for sustained demand for efficient, high-frequency air links between emerging economic centers.
