Emilio Estefan celebrates the power of Latin music at “Days to Shine”

Emilio Estefan used the “Days to Shine 2026” gathering to celebrate what he sees as the growing power of Latin music and the central role of women in its success.

The Cuban-American producer told Diario Libre that recognizing women’s influence remains essential. He said women know how to sell records, succeed and shape culture, while recalling his work with stars such as Shakira, Jennifer Lopez, Ricky Martin and Marc Anthony.

For Estefan, that recognition begins at home. He cited his daughter, multi-instrumentalist Emily Estefan, and his wife, Gloria Estefan, who has been his life partner for 48 years and played a key role in Miami Sound Machine’s success and the global reach of Latin music.

During the exclusive meeting, Estefan also praised the initiatives being organized in the Dominican Republic. He said events such as “Days to Shine” provide a space to acknowledge women’s achievements and the way new generations of Latin artists are reaching audiences around the world.
