Emir of Qatar Receives Condolences on Death of Father Emir

The Emir of Qatar, Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, continued to receive condolences for the passing of the Father Emir, Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani, for a second day at Lusail Palace. The late Father Emir died on Sunday at the age of 74.

Masses of mourners, including members of the ruling family, dignitaries, ambassadors, and citizens, paid their respects. The funeral reception saw a significant turnout of leaders from across the region and the globe, who traveled to the Qatari capital, Doha, to offer their sympathy.

Notable attendees included Rwandan President Paul Kagame, Maldivian President Mohamed Muizzu, and Kazakh President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev. The Emir also received Moroccan Prime Minister Aziz Akhannouch, Libyan Prime Minister Abdul Hamid Dbeibah, and Iraqi President Nizar Amidi, among others. A Saudi delegation and leaders from Bahrain and Oman also offered condolences.
