Employee fights off robber with wine bottle in Argentina store

An attempted robbery at a convenience store in Mar del Plata took an unusual turn when the employee, working a temporary shift, fought back with a wine bottle. The incident, captured on security cameras, shows the suspect entering the store with his face partially covered and demanding money.

I was just kidding, I was just kidding.

The employee, identified as Bruno, initially appeared to humor the suspect, but quickly grabbed a wine bottle from the counter. He threatened the robber, who then claimed he was only joking. Bruno struck the suspect, who tried to flee, but the employee pursued him and delivered another blow with the bottle, causing the man to fall to the ground.

When I saw him enter like that, with his face half-covered, I realized he was going to rob me. So I had no choice but to react like that. I didn't plan it. It was instinctive.

Despite being subdued, the suspect managed to get up and escape. Bruno recounted that he recognized the man as someone who had previously attempted to rob the store with an accomplice, noting they were armed on that occasion. He stated his reaction was instinctive, driven by a desire to protect himself and his belongings, particularly his phone.

I hit him with the bottle on the back of the neck, he fell to the ground and then he told me something that, at the time, made me even angrier. He said he was kidding, that it was a joke.
